Use the school’s instructions first

Schools do not all ask for the same information. Start with the fields the school requests, then add only what helps identify the book or notebook.

Choose each field for a reason

Dimple’s current Name Slip form provides the common school fields below. Their relevance still depends on the school and the item.

  • Full name: the main identifying detail.
  • Class or grade and section or division: include them when the school uses them.
  • Roll number and school name: add them only when they help the school identify the item.
  • Subject: left blank in the current Dimple format so it can be written for the individual book or notebook.

Fictional example only, shown as a diagram rather than a product screenshot. Choose only the details the school asks for.

Use the photo with parent or guardian permission

Dimple’s current Name Slip form requires a child photo for personalization. Use a clear school-appropriate photo only when you are the parent or guardian, or have that permission.

Leave out unnecessary details

A Name Slip does not need to carry every piece of information about a child. Follow the school’s requirements and avoid adding details that are not needed to identify the item.

Check the spelling and selected school details in the preview before adding the order to cart.
