There is no universal number
The right number depends on the school list, the child’s subjects, and which belongings the school asks families to identify. Count the real items instead of starting with a guessed quantity.
Use a simple count before ordering
Make one list before you personalise anything. Start with books and notebooks, then add folders or files only when they are on the school list. Review other belongings one at a time, following the school’s instructions and the item’s manufacturer guidance.
- Count the textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, diaries, and subject folders your child will use.
- Mark any new notebooks likely to be added after the term begins.
- Set aside items where a Name Slip is not appropriate or is not requested by the school.
School label planning worksheet
Enter the items on the school list. This worksheet only shows the mathematical number of 25-slip sheets for your entered count; it does not decide whether a surface is suitable or recommend a purchase.
No child or contact information is collected by this worksheet.
Compare your count with the current Dimple sheet
One current Dimple Name Slip order contains 25 slips on a printed 12 × 18-inch sheet: 20 large slips and 5 small slips. Compare your counted items with that format rather than assuming every child needs the same number.
If the list is longer than 25, note which items need identifying details first. If it is shorter, the remaining slips can be kept for new books or notebooks added later.
Check the details once
Use the same spelling and school information across the sheet. Dimple’s preview lets you check those details before the order is added to cart.
