Why do parents use all three terms?
Parents usually search for the problem they want to solve: identifying school books, folders or everyday belongings. The vocabulary overlaps because the job overlaps. The product specification may not.
School-identification format
A Name Slip is a printed school-identification product carrying a child’s details. Dimple’s current Name Slip sheet is for one child and contains 20 large and 5 small slips. Use a slip when the size, printed fields and layout suit the item you need to identify.
Umbrella terminology
“Name label” is best treated as a broad umbrella term. It may describe a printed slip, adhesive sticker, tag or another product. It helps to ask what it is made from, how it is intended to be used and what claims are actually confirmed.
Adhesive product format
A Name Sticker is usually an adhesive personalized sticker. Dimple Stickers are a separate product family confirmed as vinyl and waterproof. That does not make them the same product as a Name Slip, and it does not add unverified durability claims.
